Turkish songs are banned in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan has banned Turkish songs on the radio and television in Azerbaijan as a protest against the (talks toward the) opening of the Turkish border with Armenia. Azeris are readying themselves to demonstrate in front of Turkey’s embassy in Baku, and a boycot of Turkish goods is also on the agenda.

Armenian bloggers changed the name of the song to be presented at Eurovision-2009

Being pressured by some armenian bloggers Inga and Anush Arshakyan changed the name of the song “Nor Par” to be presented by Armenia at Eurovision-2009 song contest.
Final name of the song  is “Jan,Jan” .

No Grammy for Isabel Bayrakdarian

Unfortunately, Isabel Bayrakdarian -shortlisted for Best Vocal Performance Grammy Nomination with Komitas’ songs was not selected as a winner. Anyway, in my opinion, it was good chance once again  present armenian ethnomusic to the world, like Jivan Gasparyan and Ara gevorgyan done.
